About Blanton’s Single Barrel LMDW 2022 Edition Bourbon Whiskey
Kentuckians do a few things right, but one of them certainly takes center stage, and that is how they make their bourbon. Take Buffalo Trace Distillery, for example. A distillery boasting a rich history involving Colonel Blanton, who served as the distillery’s president until the early fifties, and Elmer T. Lee, who worked as his clerk and eventually became a Master Distiller himself. Elmer recalled how Blanton would meticulously select the best barrels from the warehouse to entertain his illustrious company and bottle each barrel individually. To commemorate this time-honored practice, Mr. Lee named his new bourbon ‘Blanton’s Single Barrel.’ This practice also includes selecting and transporting barrels by hand without using machinery and sealing them with a sensitive wax seal; each attributed a different alphabet letter equipped with a racehorse figurine. That’s dedicated care for you. In particular, Blanton’s Single Barrel LMDW 2022 Edition Bourbon Whisky tells the tale of four bourbon versions selected for this elusive series. Two were bottled at cask strength, and the other two were bottled at 50% ABV. Together, they form a true Kentuckian beauty, equipped with charms of sweet, citrusy and oak aromas, proofed at 63.35% ABV, and intended solely for the exclusive market with an all-together limited release of 210 bottles.

About Blanton’s
In the winter of 1881, Albert Bacon Blanton was born on a farm situated just outside of Frankfort, Kentucky. At the age of 16, Blanton began working at the Old Fire Copper Distillery (often abbreviated O.F.C. Distillery) as an office boy. Over the next few years, Blanton reportedly worked in every department at the distillery. By the age of 20, he was appointed the superintendent of O.F.C, and worked there until his retirement in 1952.
Much like his mentor, E.H. Taylor, Blanton was a traditional bourbon aristocrat, wedded to the production of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Blanton identified a certain section of Warehouse H at his distillery, which he believed was the best for aging bourbon, and would personally select individual barrels from the section to bottle for his own private reserve.
