About Nikka Gold & Gold Samurai
In 1895, Masataka Taketsuru — the father of Japanese Whisky — was born in the small town of Takehara, Japan. At the time, Masataka's family owned a sake brewery, and in preparing to carry on the family trade, Masataka studied chemistry and biology at Osaka Technical High School. After graduating high school, Masataka showed more interest in whisky than in sake and in 1918, he enrolled at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, becoming the first Japanese ever to study the art of whisky-making. While in Scotland, Masataka took chemistry courses during the day while apprenticing at distilleries at night, learning to distill and blend whisky first-hand at some of Scotland's most prestigious distilleries. In 1920, Masataka returned to Japan, and within the decade, had produced the country's first single malt whisky.In 1934, Masataka moved to the town of Yoichi and opened the doors to Nikka Whisky Co. In 1960, as the Yoichi Distillery was reaching capacity, Masataka began searching for another suitable location in Japan to open a second distillery. Following a three-year search, Masataka found a wide forest valley at the junction of the Hirosegawa and Nikkawagawa rivers. The localized humidity from the rivers and surrounding hills, together with the quality of water from Nikkawagawa River, created the perfect location for a second distillery, which he named Miyagikyo.
Originally launched in 1968, this Collectible Nikka blended whisky comes complete with its own removable metallic Samurai helmet and armor. It was originally launched in 1968 and fe atures a blend of malts. Bottled at 40% ABV.

About Nikka Yoichi 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
Yoichi 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a single malt whisky produced exclusively at the Yoichi Distillery. The aroma and delicate body of the whisky are a product of direct-heating distillation (meaning that the pot stills used during distillation are heated with finely powdered natural coal rather than an electrical source), a method that was used centuries ago but is hardly ever used today. After distillation, the whisky is aged for 15 years in a rickhouse just one kilometer from the Sea of Japan, resulting in a hint of crisp saltiness.Yoichi 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky earned the Gold Medal at the International Spirits Competition in 2010 and a score of 95 points from Whisky Advocate.

Deeming the terroir perfect for whisky production, Masataka moved to the town of Yoichi in 1934 and opened the doors to Nikka Whisky Co. Yoichi is encapsulated by mountains (to the east, south and west) and by the Sea of Japan (to the north), creating a unique and isolated environment for whisky-production. The clean air, humidity an d access to underground water filtered through a layer of peat results in a rich and masculine malt. Years later, Masataka established the Miyagikyo Distillery, which is also situated in northern Japan. Surrounded by mountains and two rivers, the Miyagikyo Distillery produces a more mild and feminine whisky as compared to Yoichi.

Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
About Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Oban Single Malt Whisky is made using 100% barley, which is malted to the distillery's exact specifications. After the barley is malted, it is partially germinated and gently dried over a peat kiln, giving it a slightly smoky, malty flavor profile. The malted barley is then mashed and fermented before being twice-distilled through Oban's lantern-shaped copper-pot stills. The stills are among the smallest in Scotland, and limit Oban's production to just 650,000 liters of whisky annually.Oban 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the third limited release whisky produced by Oban Distillery in its 219-year history. Released as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Release Whiskies, Oban 21 Year Old was matured for 21 years in rejuvenated American oak and second-fill ex-bodega casks before being bottled at cask strength. The whisky has a copper-golden color, along with an aroma of warm gingerbread, caramel, maple syrup and spicy apples. The aroma gives way to notes of creamy vanilla, barley, stewed pears and ginger on the palate, and leads to a finish accented by salty tang and lemon zest.

About Oban
After moving with their widowed mother to the small port city of Oban (situated in northwest Scotland), John and Hugh Stevenson took jobs building and repairing boats at the city's boatyard, a trade they had learned from their late father. In the 1790s, the brothers left their boat-making jobs and founded a brewery in the city. In 1794, they converted their brewery into Oban Distillery, one of the oldest and most prestigious distilleries in Scotland.For nearly a century, Oban Distillery remained in the hands of the Stevenson family. In 1883, however, J. Walter Higgin purchased the distillery and began renovations. While Higgin renovated both the distillery's equipment and structure, he did so piecemeal in order to ensure that the distillery was able to meet the uninterrupted demand for its whisky. Today, over 100 years later, Oban Distillery remains substantially the same as it was after Higgin's refurbishment.

About American Whiskey
There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.

About Rye
As American as the bald eagle, rye whiskey was first brewed in the American Northeast in the 1600s. Even George Washington distilled it after leaving the Oval Office, so there’s no way of denying its origin.
It’s distinguished from bourbon for its original and unique spicy notes.
By law, rye whiskey must be made from at least 51% rye grain, aged in new and charred oak barrels for at least two years, and bottled at no more than 62,5% ABV.

Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is a dedicated cause, acquiring some of the rarest casks from some of the finest whiskey cellars, and releasing them into the world a cascade of limited edition, barrel aged ambrosia.In 2013 bourbon and Tennessee whiskey were labeled the fastest growing product category by volume in the U.S. alcohol business. The Orphan bottling project was more or less an ingenious response to this boom in the whiskey industry, and an effort to accommodate the vast quantities of leftover product from their monopoly of acquisitions.
When Diageo didn't have a place for the acquired product in their blends, they set the spirits aside. Time transformed this new spirit into aged delicacies. In 2013, Orphan Barrel Whiskey was created by Diageo, commercializing a large stock of ultra-aged American whiskeys that it had been maturing at the Stitzel-Weller distillery in Shively Kentucky.
The fifth expression of Diageo's Orphan Barrel line, Forged Oak is crafted from a mashbill of 86% corn, 7% barley, and 6% rye and aged for 15 years. “ A statuesque whiskey with aromas of cedar, maple and vanilla bean th at give way to seasoned woody notes of cocoa and young berries, ultimately leading to a long, dry finish of black pepper” (producer).

Roca Patrón is crafted from 100% Weber Blue Agave which are harvested after six to seve n years by expert Jimadors.
The agaves are then crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone Tahona, a centuries-old tradition that breaks down the fibers. The freshly milled desert succulents are slow-roasted in a brick oven for 79 hours, before being fermented in wooden vats. The agave juice is distilled in small batches through handmade copper stills with the agave fibers to produce an earthy flavor. "
